Six specialty industrial clusters of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from North China's Hebei province have been added to the state-level list, according to a newly-released notice by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
With a total of 17 specialty SME industrial clusters in the national list, Hebei ranked second nationwide.
The six newly-recognized specialty SME industrial clusters are Smart Special-Purpose Robots Cluster in Lubei district of Tangshan city; Advanced Processing of Chinese Medicinal Materials Cluster in Anguo county of Baoding city; Geotechnical Engineering Equipment Cluster in Xuanhua district of Zhangjiakou city; Circular Chemical New Materials Cluster in Cixian county of Handan city; Medium- and Low-Voltage and New Energy Wire and Cable Cluster in Ningjin county of Xingtai city; and Glass Fiber Reinforced Composite Materials Cluster in Zaoqiang county of Hengshui city.

To further consolidate efforts and systematically promote the development of specialty industrial clusters in the province, Hebei Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, along with five other provincial-level departments, jointly enacted an action plan in this October. The special action outline aimed to specify and standardize the definition of industrial clusters and the elements that constitute high-level clusters. Specific development breakthrough paths and promotional measures were proposed to provide guidance for special industrial cluster development at the municipal and county levels.
Meanwhile, Hebei has launched the "Shared Smart Manufacturing" initiative for specialty industrial clusters to promote the construction of shared factories within 48 industrial clusters and 63 cluster enterprises. The province has also implemented the pioneering enterprise cultivation action for specialty industrial clusters, nurturing 403 pioneer enterprises.

“Specialty industrial clusters are the foundation of Hebei's industrial development and are a shining example of its economic strengths,” said Song Xiangdang, deputy director and spokesperson of the Hebei Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.
In the next step, Hebei will continue with strong policy support, stimulate enterprise innovation and elevate its special industrial clusters to a new height, contributing more to its economic development and competitiveness.
