On April 6, the first "Zhangjiakou-Shijiazhuang-Moscow" China-Europe freight train departed from Zhangjiakou's Wanquan District, Hebei Province, headed for Moscow, the capital of Russia.
This is the first China-Europe freight train launched by Zhangjiakou. It opens up efficient land transportation channels between Zhangjiakou and Europe for trade and economic exchanges.
It is an important initiative in creating a gathering center of China-Europe freight trains in the Beijing-Tianjin-Heibei region and promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade in Hebei province.

The train is an international freight train jointly organized and operated by Zhangjiakou and Shijiazhuang, actively implementing the national Belt and Road Initiative and contributing to high-quality economic development.
The inaugural train was loaded with 110 standard containers carrying exported goods to Russia, such as auto parts, weighing over 430 tons, and worth more than 24 million yuan ($3.49 million). It will leave the country through the port of Erenhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and will travel 8,800 kilometers to arrive in Moscow 14 days later.
In recent years, as a commercial center in northern China and an important node city in the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, Zhangjiakou's featured industries have grown steadily, and its imports and exports have increased year by year. It has joined forces with Shijiazhuang, a land-port-type national logistics hub city, to use Shijiazhuang's international land port to launch China-Europe trains on a regular basis. The hub and channel advantages provide new international logistics channel options for Zhangjiakou and northwest Hebei.

Liu Chao, head of Wanquan District, Zhangjiakou, said that the train has built a new channel for Zhangjiakou's deep integration into the co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and in the expansion of foreign trade. The train will become an important carrier to improve the region's level of economic and trade cooperation, promote Zhangjiakou's export-oriented economy to a new level, and create new advantages in high-level opening up.
Shijiazhuang International Land Port is focused on the establishment of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei China-Europe Railway Express assembly center, optimizing and integrating land port resources, fully serving the opening-up of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and deeply integrating into the domestic and international dual cycle.
As of April 5, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has opened 162 China-Europe trains this year, transporting 175,900 tons of goods with a value of 2.37 billion yuan, ranking first among similar international land ports in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
