Green energy brightens Hebei's future
Apr 7,2023 China Daily

North China’s Hebei province is carrying out an energy revolution by increasing the proportion of new energy in its overall energy structure and focusing on photovoltaic power, wind power, hydropower, hydrogen energy and nuclear power.

Zhangbei county, for example, is a core area of the national renewable resource demonstration zone in Zhangjiakou city. Its abundant wind which blows all year round has attracted many large wind power operators and photovoltaic power generation companies.

So far, the total installed capacity of the county’s renewable energy has reached 8.26 million kilowatts, the most anywhere in the province. About 13.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity are produced by renewable resources in the county every year.

At Tangshan Port, hydrogen heavy trucks are transporting cargo. The trucks’ engines were independently developed by FTXT Energy Technology Co, which focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of hydrogen fuel cell systems. The engine is expected to run for 10,000 hours, and can work in temperatures as low as -30 C. All the core components of the engine are made in China.

FTXT has established five R&D centers in Shanghai, Baoding, Japan, Germany and Canada, respectively. Zhang Tianyu, president of FTXT, highlighted 2023 as a year when the hydrogen energy sector will become even more promising
