“Intelligent Manufacturing - China” is a full-length integrated media reporting production created by the China Media Group (CMG) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It started on September 18 to air the program “Into TangSteel Co. of the HBIS Group”, which tells how it has realized transition and upgrading to become an iron and steel company in the age of intelligent manufacturing. TangSteel is the only one in China’s iron and steel industry to become incorporated into the list “Intelligent Manufacturing - China”.

The city of Tangshan is an important industrial city in North China. In pursuance of the grand goal of making the Bohai-rim area a new-type base for industrialization, the city has pushed the deep integration of the new generation of information technology, accelerated the interconnection of industries and stimulated the pace of digitizing, networking and intelligentizing the traditional industries. TangSteel is a core member of the HBIS. It has in recent years carried out transition and upgrading and sought development by relying on the sea to create a new generation of all-process green and intelligent name-brand factories, becoming a model in intelligent manufacturing in the iron and steel industry. After examination and spot-investigation, CMG and MIIT have decided to include TangSteel into the list of “Intelligent Manufacturing - China”, the only one in China’s iron and steel industry.
