Hebei's PM 2.5 density drops 9.1%

The latest data from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Hebei Province suggest that in the first half of 2022, Hebei's average PM 2.5 density stood at 40 micrograms per cubic meter, down 9.1 percent, and its average PM 10 density came in at a 72 mg per cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 13.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the province boasted 127 days with good air quality during the first six months of this year – five days more than the same period last year.

Synergizing pollution governance with carbon reduction, the province has fulfilled 97 emission transformation projects across 83 key enterprises in six major fields and has carried out in-depth smoke management at 23 local coal power plants.

The government has also given full play to the intelligent environmental protection platform, and severe environmental pollution cases will be handled within two hours.

A total of 62 companies in the iron and steel industry have received assistance in formulating scientific and targeted environmental protection plans to improve their precise management levels.

Off-site supervision and law enforcement reforms were also implemented through a series of remote, visual, and intelligent equipment.

In addition, expert panels were organized to provide consultation services to enterprises and grassroots institutions on relevant laws and regulations.
