Thousands of tourists drawn to flower tourism festival in N China village

Thousands of tourists have been attracted to the 1st Flower Tourism and Cultural Festival of Guyuan County in Zhangjiakou City, which kicked off in Dashila Village, Changliang Town on Tuesday.
The planting area of flowers including trollflowers, lily and marigolds and so on has so far reached to 733 hectares in the town and it remains expanding, and flower planting has become an industry to boost local economy.
In addition, some leading flower enterprises and advanced planting techniques have been introduced to the village as an effort to build the tourism brand "home of flowers" for the town.
The festival, lasts till the end of August, is estimated to draw over 300,000 tourists.
