As the Spring Festival approaches, fishermen in Luannan county, Tangshan, Hebei province, have been busy breaking ice to catch fish from freshwater ponds covering about 733 hectares.

Professional fishermen wore waders and used nets to catch and sort the fish while cranes hoisted the catch. The scene was filled with joy and abundance, depicting a bountiful harvest.

In recent years, the county has developed aquaculture, taking advantage of its abundant water resources, promoting increased income for locals, and contributing to rural vitalization.

According to the local government, the county's ponds annually yield at least 10 million kilograms of freshwater fish, including grass carp, silver carp, and crucian. They will mainly be supplied to markets in Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan and other neighboring places.
