Hebei Province had 54.69 million Internet users at the end of 2021, or 1.87 million more year on year, according to a report released by the Hebei Communications Administration on May 17, 2022.

The Internet penetration rate reached 73.3 percent, or 0.3 percentage higher than the average Internet penetration rate across China. In particular, rural Internet users accounted for 62.6 percent of all Internet users in the province.

Meanwhile, most of the netizens were young and middle-aged people, and those aged between 18 and 40 accounted for 51.6 percent.

At the end of 2021,online video computer users totaled 32.6 million, ranking first among all computer users. They were followed by 32.31 million network news computer users and 31.37 million instant messaging computer users.

At the same time, the province had 52.83 million instant messaging mobile application users, ranking first among all mobile app users. They were followed by 48.41 million payment app users and 46.99 million network news app users.
